데이터의 등급을 정의하는 것은 데이터의 기밀성(confidentiality)과 무결성(integrity) 때문에 중요하다.
CISSP 에서는 일반적으로 데이터의 등급을 네 종류로 나눈다.
- Class 3 : government classifications and potential adverse impact from a data breach, top secret, exceptionally grave damage, nongovernment classification and potential adverse impact from a data breach, confidential, proprietary. ...
- Class 2 : secret, serious damage, private, ...
- Class 1 : confidential, damage, sensitive, ...
- Class 0 : unclassified, no damage, public, ...
